Well-being
Eating and exercising are part of our daily routine, naturally. But a healthy, happy dog needs its downtime, too. Even when we have several competitions or shows all summer long, I take extra care to make sure the girls get 2-3 days of absolute "me-time" every week. However much they enjoy meeting other dogs, taking car rides, going fo long walks and all that, they need to unwind and let go of everything, even positive stress. And boy, are they good at that, too!

A sporting dog or a senior dog, makes no difference - both need occasional muscle care for various reasons. Lately, as I noticed my senior dog sometimes walked with a slight limp, I've had a professional come to the house and give a gentle massage to the old girl. The veteran track racer (now retired) enjoys these visits, and her fur immediately turned soft, her expression mellowed and she started playing again. She also stretches more now, which is an excellent sign.
